Of houses, schools and rainbow birds

I have a house, its a bungalow which is pretty cool.
Its not technically ours, its a rental, but its ours for a year.
Its in Templestowe, but really close to Doncaster East, as in the road the house is on is the boundary between the two suburbs.
The house is nice, the living area is huge, but everythings a bit beige, then again that was to be expected all rentals are.
The areas nice, theres a park along the road and a couple of big shopping malls nearby.
All the streets in the estate are named after famous authors too which is kinda strange, including Bronte, Hardy and Blyton.
Some of the houses nearby are frickin huge aswell, think my old house, triple the size, then double it again and that is the size of some of the houses, and there are some even bigger than that.

I also have a school.
I have to do the final term of grade ten, so I will be repeating a term, but thats not too bad.
The school is about double the size of SHS, then again Pips primary school is bigger than SHS.
About 40% of students arent Aussies, so I wont be to strange, although the majority of non Aussies are Asian, so I will be a bit different.
Apparently my english teacher will "positively adore my accent" I'll take that as a good sign.
I also have some interesting subjects for the next term, I got my choices for my VCE years, but for grade 10 there were very few subjects left so I'm stuck taking painting and ceramics (pottery damn it.)

There are some things I've noticed since I came here,
The birds are ridiculosly loud, and a large number of them are very bright in colour.
They serve mashed potato (although it doesnt look, smell or taste like mashed potato thats what they say it is) at KFC when you order a meal.
The internet connection in this temorary rental is rubbish.
And its cold, I realise its winter, but I expect to come from the Uk to a warm country and for it to actually be warm and not cold, wet and miserable like it is right now.

Well, I feel like an absolute douche for my family today.

I really want to tell you guise, cause otherwise I'll be moping and then people will ask me what's wrong, and then people who aren't my clique will hear and I'll have to say it all over for someone who wasn't there and I'll sound, hey! Like a douche.

So my mum's given up her job. She'll be taking courses for the next year or 2, which will cost monies, to retrain for masters law degree and the first year of her business studies degree. So we're surviving solely on my dad's wages which barely scrape over the bills, and my grandparent's generosity. When they have another family to look after, the father of which suffers with Parkinson's, and they will most likely both be dead within the next 5 years.

So I like stuff. You guise know that. I want stuff. I want monies. Just because I like stuff. Well, the stuff factor will be going down.

And I just found out today that my flute tuition is costing my parents £900 per year. £30 weekly.

So, before I go all "ugh"y, please someone tell me that its okay, everything'll work out fine and I'm not an absolute monster for nomming that much monies out of our food money.

Bonjour (spelt right this time)

So I just got back from France! It was, and I can't believe I'm going to say this, super cool. If inhumanely hot, and I mean that like I was sweating from the temperature change between the top floor and the second floor.
We tried this thing called a teliski (it probably has accents but who gives a shit?) and if you thought the thing we did at South Cerney was fun you should try this. Basically it's a set of telegraph poles at regular intervals around a lake with wires stretched between them. Along these wires run long pieces of string with handles attached and you hold onto them and then stand on snowboards or skis (we knelt on bodyboards because we were just that crap) and then you get WRENCHED around the lake super super fast. And you have to take the corners really wide to keep the string taught otherwise it suddenly goes really slack and then yanks you round again. I was really good to begin with and then I wasn't. I kept falling of at the same corner because I couldn't take it wide enough and it was right in the middle so I had to swim for AGES to get out the damn lake. I am telling you my arms, neck, thighs, shoulders and forehead were in utter agony for days after due to this truly violent sport. What made it worse was the french dudes whizzing round and purposely spraying me as they passed because they 'practice'. They got totally shown up by this little ginger girl who did it on an old skateboard with no shoes or anything, she was cool but the rest were twats.

Also France has been really bad for my nails: I've broken three right down to the quick so they were REALLY sore and had no thumb nails for like two weeks. This is not funny due to the fact we practically lived off pistachios.

Oh and Tescos are 'considering' my job application among others, my brother also recieved a letter only his said he had been rejected :) I shouldn't laugh but I do!

But watching a sex scene (you can't put your finger theeerree) with your mum is highly embarrassing. In all honesty, I was in hysterics the whole time.

no one is blogging, which is freaking upsetting, considering there's no good TV and i only visit maybe 3 or 4 sites daily (this blog, 4chan, mibba [yeah, i said it] and facebook, but only recently because my cousin says i have to be a normal canada girl and they do this kinda shit or something...)

just came back from a camping trip up north in the ol' canadian outback.
not cool, the tent leaked the first night, then i got ate a bajillion times by frickin mosquitos.
but then i shared a cool apple bong with my cousin. vair frrooty. ;D
then i had skittles AND WOULDYA BELIEVE the purple ones are grape! fancinating...
then i had 5 cups of coffee and almost peed my air mattress (but i didn't, it's awwwwright)

Epic Fail

Who would like to hear the tale of my hair?
Well then, gather round children.

First I dyed my hair blonde, to get rid of the purple, of course. Well, I can tell you, my hair was having none of it. The roots turned orange but nothing else changed. I thought 'crap, what a waste of 3 quid, oh well no harm done'.
Then I thought 'stuff it, I'll dye it green anyway'. If only I had listened to my mother. I did a strand test and it actually looked quite nice so away I went.
The roots well, they're an acid green colour that isn't too nice.
Then there are black patches and brown strips.
There are only a few bits that are actually a nice colour. (SHE LIES)

Oh and my hand, most of my neck and a couple of areas on my boob turned the colour of the incredible hulk. Yipee.

Irritatingly the colour of the water when I rinsed my hair was really nice so I thought it was going to look ok. I look like a witch. Or the mum from the Adam's family with green instead of white in her hair.

Has anybody noticed how in CSI and the Mentalist, and programs such as these that appear regularly on channel five, none of the female victims are on their period?

Now you can tell these programs are meant for women because half the adverts in the one hour show are for tampax and other such sanitary items but none of the victims, or other characters for that matter, appear to ever need them. Obviously you get copious amounts of unborn babies which I guess could explain this phenomenon but I have two other explanations:

1) When America was saved from the Blob they were a bit too thorough

or

2) There are just no fully functioning women in America.

Its amazing how few boxes it takes to pack all of our stuff from the house.
There are only 5 boxes in my room and that includes the ones containing bookcases and cabinets.
Granted there are like 50 in the dining room but thats beside the point.

Sorry I left

Hello everyone. I'm really sorry I had to leave early yesterday and skip all the cleaning etc, I had a really good time but I hope you all understand the week ended quite badly.

Half an hour after I got home yesterday we went to the vets to say goodbye to my dog. His arthritis got much worse a feew weeks ago and the drugs we were given helped to numb the pain but they also seemed to act as a catalyst for his kidney failure. At the beginning of the week my parents took him to the vets as he was unable to eat, drink or walk and he was vomiting everywhere. He stayed for 2 nights on a drip and could barely manage to lift his tail in recognition when he saw us.

I stayed for the injection with my dad and the vet warned us he could deficate, urinate and even gasp after death but he managed to retain his dignity. Which is more than could be said for me; I bawled my eyes out like a child. I didn't want to cry and then my dad cried which was wierd, scary and also quite comforting because I felt less like a pansy.

It's all sorted now and we're going to scatter his ashes which sounds a bit phsyco considering he was pet but he's been a permanent feature for the past 11 and 1/2 years so I guess it's ok. He was 12 years and 5 days old so it was kind of expected. Now that it's happened I don't want to talk about it. I don't want any sympathetic hugs or anything either.
